People’s Candidate for South Dublin County Council Tallaght-Central
My name is Declan Burke and I have lived in Kingswood, Tallaght for my entire life.
I am soon to be 21 years of age and will be contesting my first elections in this year’s local elections as an independent candidate.
I believe that the people are the most important thing about politics and I am committed to serving the people of Tallaght with pride and determination
I am committed to bringing a range of new motions before the council and committed to change in the community.
I am the people’s candidate. I have signed the ‘People’s Contract’ which ensures that I am committed to direct democracy of the people.
For every motion that comes before me as an elected representative, I pledge to canvas the people and hear their views and vote in accordance with their views.
This is real democracy.
I attended primary school in St Killian’s in Kingswood and Secondary School in Templeogue College.
I am currently a student at Griffith College in Dublin and I am due to be awarded a Level 8 Honours degree in Journalism this October.
